Day 6

Today started out great. I was laying in bed around 6:45 and heard my phone ring. My mom and my kids called me bright and early to sing happy birthday. What a treat that was. Michael then got out the little gifts he had brought in his bag without me knowing. Boy is he good. My mom and kids sent cards with him and that was nice to have. We decided for my birthday we would go out scuba diving in the morning and then head into town for lunch. Puako was great and we saw so many turtles. I was having a blast. I felt bad because once we got there the wind was really blowing and I didn't want to go but Michael talked me into it and I am glad he did. We came back to the condo and Michael and I headed into town for lunch. We had a really nice time just walking around and seeing all there is to see in Kona. When we got home Linda had made a beautiful cake for my birthday. It turned out to be a great day!

My cake Linda made for me! Isn't it pretty.

Day 5

Day 5 turned out to be a very busy day. We headed out to the dive shop at 8:00am and picked up all our tanks and bcds to dive. We then drove over to Puako and had a great dive. Saw a few pretty cool turtles and some pretty fish. I am always amazed how it doesn't even faze them as we go swimming by. They just look at you and move on. After our dive we drove back and got our tanks filled again for dive number 2. We drove down to the point of refuge where dive 2 took place. The water wasn't very clear but still fun. We got back in the car and drove down to the most southern part of the United States. It was absolutely beautiful. Michael, Marc and Linda jumped off the cliffs. It was so awesome. The wind blew like crazy but I could live there for sure. On our drive home we stopped at Quinns for some really good fish and chips. It was so worth the long day to end with Quinns. What a beautiful busy day!

Day 4

Today was a very relaxing day. We got up early and headed over to Mana Kea beach where we spent the first four hours of our day. After coming home to eat lunch we headed over to the Hilton hotel. I find this place amazing. It has change since the last time we came last year. The weather was a little humid but still not too bad.

Day 2

Today was a great day. We headed into Kona and stopped in the big island diver store to see when their night dive was. I think we are going to go do that on Thursday. After that we headed out to find a cliff to jump off of. The man at the dive shop told us where to go and so off we went. We found it with no problem and started jumping. Marc and Michael had no fear and jumped right away. I finally worked up enough nerve and jumped. I went in funny and knocked the wind out of me. I am not made to cliff jump. We stayed there for awhile and then back into town to buy some food. Costco is great here. Stocked up on food back to the condo we went. Later we went out onto the beach and enjoyed the nice breeze and watched the turtle swim all around. It is so beautiful here. I am amazed at how beautiful and green everything is. I took a video of Marc and Michael jumping so I will try to get it on the blog. Stay tune for tomorrows update. Mahalo!

Day 1

Well day 1 started out as your normal day. I got up and got the kids ready to go to my moms where they would be staying while we are gone. I cleaned my house did laundry and packed last minute items. Michael came home at 11:30 and we waited for my mom to come and Marc and Linda to pick us up. At 1:30 we were on the road heading for the airport. Making good time we were in good spirits talking about how great things were going and how much fun we were going to have. We got onto the 405 freeway and the traffic stopped. As we inched along we began to watch the clock and started to get nervous. Our plane took off at 5:30 so we thought as long as we got there before 5:00 we would be good. Well we parked the car in long term, got on the bus and headed over to the terminal. At 4:45 we were in front of the check in machine ( Not a person every thing is done by computer). Michael put in all the info and out came a paper saying we need to see a supervisor. So we walked over and ask one of the workers what was going on and she said we were to late to get on our plane. We had to have checked in by 4:45 and the time on our ticket said 4:46. She sent us over to another line to talk to a head supervisor and by now it is 5:00. I am freaking out and Michael is pissed at the workers who won't help us so Linda walks up to the counter and starts talking to a head super and even brings on the tears. The lady told us we were to late to get on our flight but that we could fly out on Friday at the same time. That was the best she could do. So we picked our seats for Friday and headed out of the airport not on a plane. I was pretty upset but handled it pretty well. We stayed the night in a fabulous hotel (NOT) and got up Friday morning and headed back to the airport. We got there at 1:30 and checked in and made sure there was no way we were going to miss our flight again. We had a nice relaxing flight and landed down here at 8:00pm. We were all starving so we drove around trying to find something open to eat but had not luck so we bought our first meal in Hawaii at the Chevron gas station. I hope this isn't a sign of how this trip is going to be. I am sure it is going to be great from here on out! We are enjoying the beautiful weather and the beautiful condo we are staying in. I will be sure to post lots up pictures. Until next time.

For those of you who know me know that I hate to fly. I am a nervous wreck the whole time we are in the air. Michael brought home some Ambien for me to take once we take off so that I will sleep. I take after the Taylors in so many ways. So we are leaving tomorrow and I am very excited. I know once we get there it will be so nice a relaxing. I pray my children are good for my mom and dad. I owe them huge for watching them all ten days. I am taking my computer so I will try to update each day that we are there. See all of you soon!!!!!
