the Great American Patriot

This past Tuesday my grandpa Taylor passed away. What a great man he was. It brings me joy knowing that he is now with his sweet wife. He has missed her so much since she passed away 4 years ago. One of my greatest memories with him is the day that he sealed me to my husband. He has always given such wonderful words of wisdom. He has been a huge example to everyone around. He will be missed. What a blessing it is to know that we will meet again and all be together for eternity.

Taylors Birthday Present

A few months ago Taylor came to me and told me for her birthday she wanted to get a new bedspread. She of course had picked everything right out of the pottery barn magazine. After adding everything up there was no way I was going to buy it so off I went on a mission to find what I needed to match the magazine. I do have to say I got it pretty close. She loved it which made it all worth the hours of sewing.

The magnet/cork/chaulk/dry erase board still needs trim put around the edge.

Student of the month

For those of you who didn't know, our sweet Ellie's birthday is on December 2 which was the cut off day for her to start school. Being the crazy mom I am I decided after discussing with her preschool teachers to put her into Kindergarten when she was 4 years old. She did pretty good and was able to stay right with everyone else in her class. At the end of the year we talked with her teacher and she said she was good to go on to the 1st grade. Last year was very hard for us. She was doing great socially but academically she was falling behind. At the end of the year Michael and I along with her teacher thought it would be best to have her repeat the 1st grade. At first I was worried about her and how she would do with all her friends moving on. Ellie is an amazing little girl. She has become this confident little girl who is at the top of her class. Michael and I are so proud of her. At Norris Elementary every month the teachers pick 2 students from their class who they feel should be spotlighted. This month Ellie was chosen. Her teacher said that she was a shining star in her class.
