Taylors Oregon trail
Taylor is in the 5th grade this year and having been learning all about the pioneers and the journey that they made. It has been a lot of fun for her . The school told the kids that they were going to get to experience what the pioneers went through and have them walk the Oregon Trail. They asked them to dress like the pioneers did and they broke them up into families and had them pull carts around the school. At one point pretty early in the journey they were told to stand in a circle and in the middle of the circle were a bunch of cards. They then told them to each go grab a card and read it. On the card it had something the they had to carry out, like having a broken leg or arm or even dying. So Taylor grabbed her card and read it and wasn't too happy with what it said. She died. They had her lay down and they had funeral for her and then her husband remarried right there on the spot. it was pretty funny hearing her tell me all about it. This is the little dress that my mom made for her to wear. It was so dang cute. She was so excited and said she was by far the best dressed. You us Taylor's we go all out when it comes to sewing!

Ellie's pre-school program
Little Ellie's school put on an end of the year program singing Disney songs. It was really fun to see all of them up there singing their hearts out. There was a little girl right in the front of Ellie whos mouse ears kept getting in the way but you can see little Ellie work her way around her to be seen. The little boy next the her is her friend Landon who she just adores. I know she is going to be so sad next year when he goes to a different school. Be sure to pause my music before turning on the video.

Girls weekend in Las Vegas!
This past weekend my mom and my three sisters were able to have a weekend with no children! I guess I should rephrase that, we did have Spencer and Shanti's baby Sariah because Spencer was out of town at the races but, It all worked out anyways and we had a great time!!!!!! Friday night we drove to Vegas and met up at Shanti's house. We hung out there for awhile and enjoyed visiting with each other. We headed over to the hotel and once we were checked in the room we decided to go out and check out the sites and night life of Vegas. Let me tell you there were some crazy people roaming about and a lot of drunks. We finally went to bed around 12:30. Saturday morning we were up and ready to go do some major shopping. Shanti met us at the hotel and off we went around 10:30. We shopped all day and only stopped to eat and drop off the baby for the night. After a very long day and a lot of walking we headed back to the hotel for bed at 12:30 am. What a great day we had! Sunday we got up and did a little more shopping and just hung out with each other before the drive home. I was very sad to see the day end. I could have had another day for sure! We had such a great time we are already planning our next trip. I want to say thank you to my mom for coming and being with us even though you kept me up half the night (HAHAHAHA) and to my sisters for making me laugh and being so great!!!!!!!!! I love all of you and am going to start planning our next get together.
Sunni and I were up bright and early ready to go!
All of us at lunch! My sisters Sunni, Mauri, Shanti and my mom and me
We talked Mauri into piercing her ears! It was so much fun!!!!!
Shanti checking out a cute pair of earings

Charley
Well I just thought I would blog once again on my 5th child Charley. The difference about this blog is that it is going to be on a positive note! Charley has been such a handful these past few months to the point where I didn't know if I was going to make it through to her teenage years. I would find myself crying to Michael all the time about her and just not even wanting to deal with her tantrums. This last week or so it is like I have a new child. She isn't throwing herself on the floor in an outrage, she isn't screaming the whole time I am driving around town, she doesn't cry all through nursery clinging to my leg, it is amazing. I told Michael this morning that it is like she has stepped on to the next phase. I love listening to her talk and she loves to sing in the car. I love watching her play with Ellie and copy everything she does. I love to listen to her say the prayer any time we are praying even if someone else is saying it. She has become this little light in our home and I am loving every minute. I hope it will continue on as she gets older. I know that there are going to be hard days and hard times like when I will finally get her to put on the panties to potty train or when it is time for bed but as long as she continues to be the joy she has been I think I can handle it. I heard this song the other day and it total hit me like a brick I found myself crying in the car. Just listen to the words and I think you will really like the message.
One more quick note on Charley. I took her to get her pre-school physical yesterday and they told me she was going to have to have a TB test. I was really worried because Ellie screamed when they did hers. So when the nurse came in she talked to Charley and told her she was just going to give her a little poke in her arm. The needle went in and Charley didn't even cry. She just looked at me and said "all done?" She needed two more shots in her little legs and she once again didn't even cry. It was great. I was so worried about having to carry her out in a total panic!

Happy Mothers day!
I just wanted to say Happy Mothers day to all those important mothers in my life. First I want my mom to know how much I love and admire her. She is always willing to do what ever I need without even asking why. She is an amazing grandmother to my children and I just hope I can someday be half the mother she has become. Next would be my wonderful sisters and sister in laws. How I do look up to all of you for advice and support. You have no I idea how many times all of your examples have led me down the road I needed to go. My Grandma Reber has been a huge part of my life. I have always loved being around her and enjoying her sweet spirit and love for everyone. I know that is where my moms gets her willingness to serve. I hope you all have a beautiful day I know that I am thinking of all of you!

Ellies Tea Party
Little Ellie's pre-school had a wonderful Mothers Day luncheon for all the moms. I was able to go and just be with Ellie for this little party. She was so proud to show me all the beautiful things in her class room. She made this beautiful picture with her hand prints and a lovely bracelet that I will be wearing on Mothers Day.
