Ellie's big day

Each month at Norris they choose two students from each class to receive the student of the month award and this month Ellie was choosen from Mrs. Smiths class. It is suppose to be a suprise so I didn't tell her and when they called her name she was so shocked she just stood there. It was Johnney apple seed day also so she was dressed little a little cowgirl. I was so proud if her!

Our day at the Lake

For the past four years our family has taken a weekend trip to Bass Lake in September. This year with work and kids sports schedules we weren't able to go so Michael decided to take a day off so that we could spend at least one day out on our boat. It was a great day. We took the kids out of school ( Except for Ellie, she didn't want to miss Johnny apple seed day ) and spent a day at Lake Ming with no one there. Look how pretty the lake looks with no boats!

Michael is always so happy behind his boat. ( he was stuffing his face when I took this picture so his cheeks are full of food.)
Kauner deep in thought about his next ride.

Taylor always looks so nervous when she skis.

Our little Hayden never wants to ski. We asked him several times to go and he is just happy riding in the boat. Next year for sure he will get up!

Kauners big game

What a night we had. This was our second game of the season and turned out to be pretty exciting. The first game we didn't do so well but what and improvement last night. The quarterback who was hurt at the very first practice was back and his dad who is the High school coach for Frontier was there to help so it made a huge difference. Our boys were great. Kauner and Talmage played a great game. Our team made the first touchdown and we held the other team until the third quarter. The game was tied at the very end and so we went into over time and won. It was great. Kauner had 4 tackles and caught an amazing catch. I know I am bragging but it was so much fun to watch them play. It is amazing to see how having a good quater back who can throw and a good coach can make a huge difference. These are just a few shots I was able to get. I got so excited during the game I got a few out of focus. I might do better next game.
Kauner and Talmage were team captains last night.

Finally

Finally I was able to get onto the internet and actually download pictures. Our internet has been really bad and so it works sometimes and then doesn't. The problem was it wouldn't upload any pictures so my blog has really been behind. I thought I would give a little update into what has been going on in our home lately.

The very first and exciting thing was that the children went back to school. We lucked out this year and got great teachers!!!! I love all of them and look forward to a wonderful year. Even Charley has good teachers at the preschool. She is so excited to start this week. It is going to feel weird being alone once again for three hours two days a week. I don't know what I am going to do!!!
The next thing would be that Taylor has started swimming. She loves it. After summer swim team ended we talked about club swim and she really wanted to do that so I started calling around finding out prices and all the info.I found out that McMurtery had a year round swim team for a great price. They swim monday through Thursday for and hour and a half each day. It has been great for her to get some excercise and also advice on her swimming technique. Her cousin Melanie has been swimming with her and they seem to be having a good time. She has been able to keep up with her school work on top of everything else so far. We shall see how it goes. The one thing I have noticed though is the older your kids get the more you are living in your car driving from here to there.
Next would be Kauner and tackle football. This is new for us this year. Last year he played flag football and by the end of the season he was tackling boys who had the ball so we figured it was time to get him into tackle. His cousin Talmage is playing with him and it has been alot of fun watching them play. The season has just begun so we have a ton more games to go watch so I look forward to every Tuesday night from now until November!
Hayden and Ellie are getting use to getting up every morning and going to school. Hayden doesn't say much about what goes on at school but he has started reading like crazy. It is so funny watching your children go from hating to read to sitting down on the couch with a good book to read just because. I have now doubt he is going to do great this year. Ellie has gotten right back into the routine. She reads each night to me and loves doing her homework. We shall see if this continues. The other day I told her to read the story to her dad and show him how well she was doing so, she sat down next to him and started telling him the story word for word without even looking at the page. She had memorized the entire story. It was pretty funny.
Charley has started going to the gym with me again and doesn't like it too well. I know she will love going to school instead. It has been pretty quiet around here with just her home but it is nice. She tells me stories and always wants to help me do whatever it is I am doing.
As for Michael and I things are pretty much the same. Michael works each day and I do whatever needs to be done around the house or out and about.
Linda and I were asked to make a wedding cake for her daughter Nicoles friend. We were alittle nervous at first but then thought what the heck we will give it a shot. So we did and besides a few minor mishaps it turned out pretty good. I was very proud of us. I thought you might like to see the job we did so I posted a few pictures.
So that is all for now I hope we will continue to have internet access so I can update.
