So a couple of weeks ago my dad and brother started our kitchen remodel. It didn't take very long to take out our old cabinets. I didn't want to post until it was all done but everyone keeps asking to see it so here it is. We have the back bottom and half of the uppers in and are waiting for our new microwave. The island will come after they finish the cabinets on the wall and we tile our floor. It is so pretty I find myself just sitting in my kitchen. I love to unload my dishwasher and putting things inside the cabinets. I can't wait for it to be all done so that you can see my vision of what I wanted my kitchen to look like. A special thanks to my dad and Mikey for working their butts off in between jobs to do this for us and a special thanks to my husband for letting me do this.
The back splash did not want to come off. They had to tear it and part of the walls off to get it out of there. There will be a little patch work that needs to be done.
I saw a picture of a hood in a magazine and showed my dad what I was thinking and this is what he designed. I love it! I was glad I wasn't here the day they put it in. It was so heavy they had to have several guys come help carry it into the house.
The hole above the oven is where the microwave will go. Then the side cabinet is a large pantry.
This is just half of the uppers. There are glass cabinets that go on top of those. I am putting rock on my back splash and then we are tiling the floors. It is going to be great! The island in the picture will be torn out and my new island will be black. Michael also made a beautiful work station that will be painted black and put over in the corner next to the pantry. We also took our table down and all our chairs and have refinished them. That was cheaper then buying a new table and chairs.
