Student of the month!

Norris Elementary has started a program where at the end of every month the teacher of each class selects two students from their class that they feel has improved in some way. This month Mr.s Teves selected Ellie to receive this award. She was so dang cute the morning of the assembly. She picked out what she was going to where the night before and then that morning she instructed me on how to do her hair. She is such a sweet little spirit in our home! There is always a smile on her face and she is always singing something. When she saw me standing there waiting for her to walk up on the stage she smiled and gave her movie star wave! I know I might be in for it when she is a teenager but for now I am going to enjoy every minute!

Missing Grandma Abby

It has been a really long time since my last post and things have been crazy. A home full of kids is always moving. I just wanted to dedicate a post to my mother. She has been put of town for a week now and we are all missing her very badly. It just isn't the same with her gone. I went over to their house yesterday to get a few things I left and Charley walked through the house screaming for grandma! She was very sad to find out she wasn't home yet. Hurry home mother I know we are looking forward to having you back. We love and miss you very badly.

Taylor's Home!

My little Taylor survived a week away from home at Camp K.E.E.P. For those of you who don't know Taylor she has a very hard time being away from home and doesn't spend the night at friends homes because of this reason. I was so worried that we were going to get a phone call on Monday saying we needed to come pick her up. After the first two nights I knew that we were going to be ok. I sure did miss having her around during the week. It is amazing how having just one child gone can make such a huge difference. The buses pulled in around 3:15 and boy did my heart begin to race. My mom and i watched all the kids step off the bus and we couldn't see her anywhere. Then out of no where she came walking up. My eyes just began to flow with tears and I am sure the parents around me thought I was such a dork. It was so good to see her sweet little face smiling at my mom and I. She has told us such fun stories and has been singing such funny songs. I know she had a wonderful time and it was worth every penny spent for her to go. We are very happy to have her home and filling our home with happiness.

The school had two buses full of parents and children. Man were they all so dirty.

Ellie and Charley's picture day!

About a month ago I started making these little outfits for Ellie and Charley and I finally finished so, I took them out to the orchards by my house and took a few pictures. They looked so cute! I just wanted to share.

my dad

These past few days I have been thinking a lot about my dad. I don't know what has caused this maybe because my uncle is really sick and I have seen the pain his children have been feeling. I love my dad so much and worry that he doesn't take care of himself very well. We tease him all the time that he needs to go to the doctor but he still won't go. I just want him to be around a long time so that my children can know what a great person he is. I hope that one of these days he will listen to all his children and wife and go to the doctor! I found this picture and thought it was so funny because this is how he sleeps. Little cat naps all night long in the strangest places. Love you DAD!

Dr. Suess Day

Every year at Norris they celebrate Dr. Suess day by doing something fun with the kids. The last few years it was crazy hat day but this year they had them wear Dr. Suess t-shirts. They were going to have a contest on the best t-shirt. My kids of course wanted to be part of this event so I ran to Wal-mart and bought a few white ts and then had them find what they wanted to put on them. Kauner and Ellies where pretty easy because I was able to copy them right out of the book and then paint them but Hayden of course picked one that I couldn't find a very good picture of so I spent half the afternoon drawing it big enough to be able to put on the front of his shirt. I do have say it turned out pretty good. Sunday night Michael stayed up with me to keep me company while I painted the shirts until 1:30 in the morning. They looked so cute and were so excited to go to school. We didn't win anything but they were just happy to have their shirts.
